Multiple sights can be calculated and plotted while allowing for interim track changes. The selection offered is filtered by altitude, azimuth and magnitude limits. Ambiguous sights are immediately apparent as is the quality of the resulting position.

With 270 stars of similar brightness to the 57 “Selected Stars” usually used for sights, it is not unusual for these to be taken by mistake. In this example, Venus with a magnitude of -4.0, has an intercept of 0’.3. Dschubba also satisfied the criteria applied which is entirely a matter of choice.

“Show Calculations” displays the steps in the calculation for each sight using the common simplifications of manual calculations and with values rounded to one decimal place.
